The Kupang Project (2015)

This year-long collaboration was a partnership with Singapore’s GenerAsia Limited and Roslin Orphanage in Kupang, Indonesia.

The project empowered the residents and caregivers of the Roslin Orphanage through a Creative Education Programme (CEP) for the residents, and Train-the-Trainer workshops for the caregivers.

For the CEP, artists and educators from Indonesia and Singapore came together to introduce arts-based activities and skills, such as visual arts, theatre, movement, and how to play drums and bells. These were incorporated into the educational programme of Roslin Orphanage, allowing residents to better express themselves and gain confidence in the process. The train-the-trainers workshops in turn enabled caregivers at the orphanage to continue these arts-based activities and skills for future residents.
