Dedicate a song to your loved ones, performed by musicians in Singapore!
The Gift A Song project is a collaboration between the SIF and homegrown musicians in Singapore. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the livelihoods of local performers who lost their stage, and music lovers are missing their favourite singers and musicians without live shows. Believing in the power of music and artistic creation to uplift spirits and bring communities together in times of isolation and difficulty, the SIF worked with a group of passionate musicians to bring cheer to world communities.
Led by Singaporean music veteran and SIF Citizen Ambassador Clement Chow, the SIF engaged 15 talented homegrown artistes to record song dedications from their home to lift our spirits with music. Heart-warming dedications were received from friends of the SIF from around the world, sending messages of encouragement, gratitude, love and hope to their family, friends and various groups of people affected by COVID-19. Recipients include communities that are struggling due to the crisis – migrant workers, small business owners or people coping with strained mental health; people who have stepped up to help vulnerable communities in times of need—social enterprises, NGOs and volunteers, as well as medical workers who are at the frontlines of the fight against the virus.
The Gift A Song project has thus far delivered 50 song dedications in English, Tamil, Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin to friends from 11 countries! Check out some of the video dedications here, or enjoy the full playlist on SIF’s YouTube page.
